Sr. Product Development Manager - Knits & Sweaters

As a Senior Product Development Manager, you are a key driver in the product development process from initial concept to final adoption. You will implement product development strategy and support sourcing strategies that maximize margin and quality, while ensuring the achievement of the overall design intent and brand goals. You will also serve as a mentor and program/process leader within the team to ensure best in class outcomes.

The Product Development team partners with Design from the initial design concept phase. They accurately assess aesthetics, construction and fit to drive execution of prototype/sample development and ensure related IMU & Quality goals are achieved. All team members have product development expertise, are solution oriented and have the ability to build strong cross-functional global partnerships with Design, Sourcing/Production and Mills/Vendors.

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Own the execution of the product development and will serve as the main interface between Design and Suppliers.
  
• Identify product engineering opportunities – fabric/garment construction/vendor or country alternatives to meet IMU goal while keeping design integrity.
  
• Develop costing strategies and negotiate costs for all styles to meet IMU goal expectations.
  
• Develop and implement PD sampling processes & protocols and other programs as needed.
  
• Drive product development timeline with Design and Tech team to deliver precise prototypes, with the appropriate taste and aesthetic levels.
  
• Monitor and report Sample Development/Adoption Ratio.
  
• Conduct Product Handoff meeting to sourcing/production.
  
• Mentor and lead others to the outcomes of the above (coaching, leading, technical training).
